Landscapes...

... that take your breath away. I was in complete awe and found my fingers were rather unhappy to stay in my pockets for more than 5min. Photos just had to be taken! For Christmas, I got this amazing book, so I felt we should put it to good use when in Aldeburgh. So that's exactly what we did. Off we went, little map in hand (well actually, around my neck, in full-on geek fashion!), and all I can say is that it was absolutely stunning.

Such beauty.

Such peace.

Such serenity.

I'll leave the photos do the talking...

This one below makes me chuckle. The cows did actually start to wait in line to cross the bridge. They were so patient, it was terribly funny. I love cows. They make me laugh. Although they do scare me a little as well. The walk took us across a field full of them (including calves and a bull), I can tell you I wasn't too keen!! Luckily, the farmer arrived pretty much immediately to feed them. They all diligently ran in his direction, leaving our path clear. Phew.

And to finish off, a classic for anyone who's ever been to Aldeburgh. You probably all have the same photo! I do love it though, so for all of you who haven't been to this delightful place, here it is, the Scallop:

The words read: "I hear those voices that will not be drowned". To me, this sentence seems full of defiance, melancholy, sadness. I gives me goose bumps. [You can read more about the Scallop here.]

Well I hope you've enjoyed seeing these photos as much as I have, it seems like ages ago already, yet it was less than a week ago.... How time flies!! Hope you have a good Friday, wherever you are!! xx

Very peaceful - I really would love to visit Aldeburgh. A friend of mine has a house in Southwold and it sounds like a lovely part of the world.

Nice to see some landscapes with no snow! x
