The start of my crochet mania

Yes, I think it might deserve that name I'm afraid. I'm going crochet mad. Honest. Even though it feels a little odd making a blanket at this time of year, it's getting warmer every day! But I don't care, I love love love love it!

The best thing I've found about crochet so far is the fact that you can stop and pick up anywhere - no need to finish a line like with knitting. So it's suited my life a lot better, in the sense that I can do a little bit here and there, and haven't had to sit down for official crochet sessions. So there, I love it. I hope you love it too! Well, all 22 squares for the moment!

As for the name of this blanket, well I'd like to thank those of you who came up with suggestions! And I think I've got to go with the first one, Go Caerphilly, because it was too funny, especially Jill's joke about the hedgehogs - that just did it for me!!

I so know what you're going through - it's like an addiction that grabs hold isn't it?!

So looking forward to seeing the finished result. I've just started on another little granny square blanket for my new niece/nephew to be born in October - I only started it on Saturday evening but there's already 10 squares up and rocking!

What a fantastic name you've chosen for your BEAUTIFUL blanket-to-be :0)

I read that silly little Hedgehog joke on a card years ago and it still makes me laugh today.

I'm loving the natural colours you're using. It'll look stunning when it's finished.

I second Jill's comment about the natural colours - it's going to look fabulous and should be super warm in the winter.

What's wrong with making blankets in the summer? I've got 5 on the go. Yes. 5!
If you don't make them during the summer, you'll go cold when winter arrives. That's my justification anyway! :P

I love your squares. I love the effect of the black and white (?) yarn. Really pretty!

I second the comment above about making blankets in the summer, i have 3 on the go! You are just giving yourself plenty of time to have them ready for when the cold weather comes. Crochet is great, I can't get enough either :-)
