Summer in a glass

It's that time of year again. Not many browning flowers down our end, actually a lot more buds in the waiting.

Last saturday afternoon was a perfect time to collect flower heads, going from one bush to the next. The weather was amazing and the elderflower trees heavy with fragrant bounty.

30 flower heads later and 2 1/2 litres of golden liquid ready to be consumed. Now I just need to make sure it doesn't get demolished in the next few days, it really is very good!

I can vouch for it, it IS delicious. I have been look for elderflowers here in Switzerland to try your recipe but I cannot find any and that is very frustrating! I wish you could send me a glass through the post :-)

ARGHHHHHH! Everyone is elderflowering it up in blogoland except me and I want to but I can't find any near my dad's! The one tree I know of has vanished and been replaced by a grumpy looking attitudey tabby cat....

So not fair... :( (sulking now)

Oh and when I did find some on the way into town in Carshalton I went to pick it and some horrible bug or ghastly creature had left some black sticky residue all over it...yuck! Not my season I guess...xxx

Tasted a glass while on holiday in Derbyshire and it was like liquid light. Or at least, how I imagine liquid light to be.
